Dóra Konsánszky trained as a fashion designer at the University of Applied Arts, Budapest, Hungary. (www.mome.hu)
Toward the end of her studies, she was awarded a Nina Ricci - Air France scholarship for fashion designers, and she continued her training at Les Écoles de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, Paris (www.modeaparis.com/va/ecoles) In 1990, she received her diploma from L’École de l’Alliance de Haute Couture.
K. started her professional career in Hungary. The main factors to shape her designs are three-dimensional tailoring and French corsetry, which she studied in detail at L’École Chambre Syndicale de La Couture Parisienne, Paris; at the same time there is her Hungarian education, which focused on the culture of design. Her fashion design reflects this duality of structure and femininity, a delicate mixture between the impact of design and French couture. In addition to fashion design, D. K. has published articles on fashion and worked as a stylist for fashion journals. After several individual fashion shows, she had her own fashion clip on Fashion TV in 2001. (www.ftv.com)
D.K.’s individual exposition entitled „Corseted garderobe” is organised at the Budapest History Museum, and was open from 10th June up to 12th September, 2004.
